I've seen the argument "More people die in car crashes than are killed by guns, so we should ban cars" put forth time and again.
But the difference is most of the people who die in car crashes die accidentally. The majority aren't intentionally killed. With guns, most deaths are intentional.
The other is, more people die from medical mistakes than are killed by guns. But medical mistakes are also mostly accidental.
So how can one be equal to the other and used in an argument?
If a brand of coffee makers were blowing up accidentally and killing 100 people a year do you think they would be recalled and banned? If a doctor was accidentally killing 10 patients a year do you think he would be in business?

Raees, a person who was drinking, gets into his car, drives down a road and kills a family or a member of a family, do you consider that accidental or not.
I do not consider it accidental as the individuals usually have been drinking and driving for years and knew when they walked into the bar or club they were going to drink and drive.
As for the Doctor thing, I do not know the numbers, a lot, I agree may be accidental, but some are not. As the story of the doctor who was here in Denver I think, went to chicago, as she left here due to lawsuits, (her lic was never revoked) left Chicago for the same reason and then went to New York. It was on the news. She was lousy at her job(a surgeon) and was maiming people.

It's about as accidental as someone who was drinking, grabs their gun(s) and shoots people, as opposed to someone who plans gun violence over time (like Klebold and Harris, and Holmes).
The majority of fatal vehicle crashes are accidental, I believe. That's why you can't compare vehicle deaths to gun deaths. Understand?

Really vehicle crashes accidental? Don't think so. That's why so many tickets get handed out and why there is a mandatory insurance requirement. Someone often at fault.

Really? I seriously doubt even bad drivers get in their car with the intent to go out and kill someone.....even the drunk driver doesn't say to him/herself.......I'm going to get drunk and go kill somebody. If killing was their intent, they would probably use a gun.

Regardless of initial intent it doesn't make it accidental. Looks like we are looking at initial intent with outcome.

I don't really know. Would have to ask LE. Most times someone gets a ticket and someone is at fault.
