Why no diversity on the NRA board?

If they claim to represent Americans, shouldn't they at least give the appearance of representing Americans on their board of directors?

Of the 76 NRA directors, 87% are men. 93% are white.

The board is voted on by members. Maybe minorities don't want to be on the board? Or women?

Personally I have voted for both women and minorities on the board. One year Erik Estrada was running. I don't remember if he won.

Yes, but who nominates them?

The majority are nominated via a top-down process and elected by a small fraction of NRA members.

I'm guessing the board wold reflect the make up of it's members, not that of America. Would you expect the board of the NAACP or the Aauw to be more diverse?
