Al-Qaida-linked militants seize BP complex in Algeria

ALGIERS, Algeria — In what could be the first spillover from France’s intervention in Mali, Islamist militants attacked and occupied a natural gas complex in southern Algeria on Wednesday. Two people were killed and dozens of others, including several Americans, were reportedly taken hostage.

Unintended consequences? Qadaffi was overthrown, his amories were looted by Al Quiada, and they used those weapons to take over 1/2 of Mali and now hitting Algeria.

I guess BP should have spent more on security... They didn't do a very good job on safety at their Gulf rigs....
