Looks like Sen. McCain and Sen. Rubio, have signed onto a plan which will allow 11 million illegals currently in America a easier path to citizenship. Think this will pass in this term?
Looks like a four part bill which includes more border protection and a better way for employers to check status. Personally I would like Congress to break this up into smaller bills, because I think the border and job verification would pass easier than the other more divisive parts of the bill.

I don't think they'd be able to pass the border protection and verification without the path to citizenship. Looks to me like both sides sat down and figured out a way for everyone to get what they want, but they have to put up with some stuff they didn't want.

Isn't it amazing... Obama announces a couple of weeks ago that he's going to "give an address" on "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" on January 28th... And on January 27th, the GOTP is scrambling to try to come up with a "bipartisan plan"--(Did I mention, "on January 27th"..?)
Wow, you think the GOTP are still trying to prove they're "relevant" after losing the Hispanic vote to Obama, 71% to 24%? (Of course, as people like Fred prove, they still hate "illegals", and are still hoping for "self-deportation"...But by god, that "Kinder, gentler" sales-pitch sure looks nice on that pig...)
I don't see it so much as worrying about the "egos involved", as I do an exercise in the GOTP finally figuring out how to read polls and count votes...They aren't particularly smart, but apparently they are trainable.

(Reuters) - A bipartisan group of senators who have agreed on an immigration reform plan said on Monday they hope to move quickly with legislation giving 11 million illegal immigrants a chance to eventually become American citizens.
The four Democrats and four Republicans released the outline of a comprehensive immigration reform effort - one with plenty of details missing - that still must be turned into legislation.
At a news conference on the proposal, Democratic Senator Charles Schumer of New York, one of the eight working on the initiative, said he hoped it could be passed by the Senate in late spring or early summer.
I didn't say it wasn't "bipartisan"--As a matter of fact, I specifically DID say a "bipartisan plan."... But isn't it odd that after running on a platform of "All these illegals should self-deport", all of a sudden the GOTP decides to go for a "bipartisan" effort? Somehow, I don't think it was the Dems that tried to start one... Why would they? They hold the cards right now......

First you bitch about the republicans being obstructionists.
Now you bitch about them helping to create a bipartisan plan.
It must really suck to be so bitter.
