Tom Tancredo, former Colorado Congressman, had made a bet with a pot advocate saying he would smoke dope with him if Colorado passed the amendment supporting recreational marijuana use.
tongue: Now, the man wusses out. Says by fulfilling the bet, he says he would be a bad example for his grandchildren.
Different morals with me: I think you set a much worse example by welching on a bet than smoking dope in my world. And Tom Tancredo was the man who said he would only serve a couple terms but ended up lying about that too. I guess politicians are so used to lying and breaking promises, whelching on a bet is nothing to them.
Meanwhile in Denver, has Mayor Hancock fulfilled his bet yet?...
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
Good for him...the lesson I see in this is that even if you make a rash decision, or bet, it is never too late to set it right and be true to yourself and your personal values.
And thanks Grady for providing a source to the story.
Maybe Tom is just trying to set a good example by following an educator's teachings:

While the State figures out how to start collecting taxes on pot and allowing for commercial production of products it might be smart to keep dope smoking on the down low.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
