Bill to exempt Colorado from daylight saving time killed in committee
Posted: 02/04/2013

Colorado's version of "Zero Dark Thirty" died Monday when a Senate committee killed Sen. Greg Brophy's bill to allow voters to decide whether to keep the state on daylight-saving time year-round.

A retired Boulder teacher testified in favor of Brophy's measure, saying how hard the time changes are on students. But the presidents of Colorado Ski Country USA and the president of an Aspen-based travel group predicted problems and confusion if it were to pass.

The Senate State Affairs, Veteran & Military Affairs Committee killed Senate Bill 64 on a party-line vote, with three Democrats voting against it and the two Republicans voting for it.

Unlike some bills that are complex and should really be voted on by experienced legislators, I agree that Colorado voters can be trusted with this choice.

Personally I want Daylight Savings time all year around.

:yeahthat:

Why can't they just leave the time ALONE! If we, the people, were allowed to vote on it I'd definitely vote for keeping Daylight Saving Time! Nothing more depressing than dark at 4:30 p.m.

Oh come on. Tourists are so addled by the altitude anyway, it wouldn't make any difference.

Personally I want Summertime all year around. Can the lawmakers do that for me?

How about we compromise and change the time by 1/2 hour and leave it alone. LOL

Per Yahoo news, don't recommend it as a source since the article tells you very little, but Putin's stooge Medevev has made it daylight savings year around so Moscow isn't seeing the sun until 11AM. He is getting heat about his decision and Putin is saying they should go back to standard time. I like a year around DST but I would not be willing to wait until lunchtime to see the sun. That is like Fairbanks.
