In keeping with my investment theme of blindly buying +5% yields and following investors I respect over at siliconinvester.

PPL?

Good luck.

My primary energy play is the mid-stream company, NRGY - and it's already delivered my minimum annual yield.

APL is capitalized at more than $5B US --- so it doesn't really tickle my fancy.

Looking at the charts, APL has been really stable the past year. By comparison, NRGY shows the kind of price volatility I look for.

I'd note that recently, they (NRGY) have re-structured, spun off, and focused. Investors have scurried, not knowing how to value the stock.
(seekingalpha for example, has been less than kind).

As long as the company is in a fundamentally sound business (gas energy is hard to argue with) ---- that's when I invest.

bb, thanks for the lead. As I said early on my investing style is to find smart people and follow them. You qualify. I appreciate it.

My APL buy is up 20.24% plus a 1.5% divi.

My NRGY buy which you brought to my attention is up 27% plus a 1.18% divi.

I will take both but yours has made me more $. Keep up the good work with the standard caveat that I have full and sole responsibility for my investments.

Hail bailey bud! :love2: :clink: :frwrks

BB, what's up? I see I now have 43 shares of NRGM in the acc. spun off of NRGY. Should I be happy?

I'm trying to figure that all out ---

The value of my pot hasn't really dropped - I added up my NRGY and NRGM holdings - and it adds up to the value of NRGY prior to the split.

Splits are usually good - but I'm a little leery.

At minimum, they just doubled my cost of selling my holdings.
