I get your drift and am not unaware of the direction our country is heading wrt personal freedom. That said, I think this line of thought just leads to ridicule and is counter productive.
What I see is a few thousand useless Pentagon employees justifying their salaries by generating a 326 page document no one will read.
That is exactly the kind of conversation I was hoping for. A subject should not be the source of ridicule. People should be allowed to explore a subject and receive all kinds of perspectives.
Everyone in uniform swears to protect and defend the constitution.
That is from what I consider a left wing nutter blog. I think anyone on the right that is scared of the United States Military is also a nutter. They are out there.
For anyone interested this is the blog. I also think that the folks on ether side who buy this kind of stuff are pawns of the political class.
(For balance, if anyone has a link to a right wing nutter blog feel free to post it.)
(Edit. I found this link at a right wing site that is trying to establish how nuts the left is. Before I hit submit I decided to read a little more of it. It is possible the blogger is punkin us. I really am not sure.)
In a speech to the Wyoming GOP, DICK Cheney said that the recent national security choices by President Obama (i.e. Chuck Hagel, John Brennan and John Kerry) were “subpar people.” This from the guy who was part of an administration that chose, among other things, Heckofajob Brownie for FEMA.
Charles Johnson: Sen. Lindsey Graham has appointed himself the King of Republican Bad Craziness, pandering to the far right’s bizarre fantasies about the Benghazi attack with a relentless zeal that would be impressive if it were directed at something actually useful to the country.
New wingnut conspiracy! In the wake of news that Sen. Lindsey Graham is threatening to block the nominations of Hagel and Brennan, there’s a whole new conspiracy theory bubbling up on the right. From ground zero of Obama era conspiracy theories comes the conspiracy theory to top them all: that CIA nominee John Brennan is himself a Muslim."
