Our president economic genius who still presides over very high unemployment wants to make it even more expensive to hire people. Brilliant!

That is because Obama, having never worked or hired anyone in the private sector, doesn't understand there is no free lunch.

This is what we get when we have lifetime politicians making economic decisions.

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

And you will see even more workers getting their hours cut. "I have to send you home early today because your work is done and I can't stay in business paying you $9 an hour to do nothing."

My daughter (17 yrs old) works for min wage in a shoe store that's barely getting by. This would most likely kill that business and force me to pay for her gas and insurance again. Super!

Increasing the min wage at about the same time Obamacare hits small business sounds like a winning formula to me.

So if this goes through and employers are forced to increase low skilled workers by $1.50 an hour, will it really be a net gain for low income people? If you add the increase in prices (employers will pass the costs to consumers) and you figure in reduced hours (which will happen) and increased unemployment rate (which will happen)... how much of that $1.50 will remain in the pockets of the poor? I think it's a wash at best.

But I actually want all of Obama's brilliant ideas to go through so even the sheeple will see the light iin four years when none of it works.

It actually makes a certain amount of sense since the dollar has lost a lot of value under Obama despite the misleading inflation numbers.

LOL - Huff Post "economist" speaks out on min wage. :)

I won't even bother to point out the obvious absurdity of this Puff piece, but I thought it was interesting to read the drivel that they are feeding to the populist uninformed masses. Jus keep on writin what yer writin! LOL

The minimum wage should have reached $21.72 an hour in 2012 if it kept up with increases in worker productivity""

I wonder how many of the 47% own small and medium sized businesses. Barry doesn't have to make sense or have any credibility when he addresses the public, all he has to do is switch back in to campaign mode and say what the majority of the people want to hear. Spin the words so it comes out sounding like a pledge and a promise that will become reality as soon as he says it is.

For the 47% of the people he has not delivered on jobs, he has just laid out a couple of free doses of Gubment "crack." Can't afford a cell phone? No problem, apply for an Obama phone. Need food? No problem, apply for food stamps. Can't afford boner pills and/or contraception? No problem, here comes Obamacare. Can't pay the rent? No problem, apply for never ending unemployment benefits. Can't find employment? Why are you looking, the Gubment is here to provide for your every need. Stop thinking, stop providing for yourself and your dependants, the Gubment is here to give you exactly what your beloved leader determines you need.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus
