Although still in the early stages, The current Obama plan to provide a path to citizenship contains an approach that will continue to swell the DEM votor ranks IF passed into law. I see some estimates that there are 11 Million illegals in the US......Hispanics that is. I cannot grasp how if illegal the feds can possibly know how many are here.....is it 8 Million or is it 25 Million......if anyone knows how a definitive number is or can be developed many would be most appreciative.

NOW for sake of discussion , lets assume this number is 20 Million say with 10 Million here and immediate families still in Mexico (or wherever South). Obama wants to also include the immediate families in the path to citizenship.....in his current "plan".....can we assume that the 10 Milliuon have say five immediate family members.......Ok IF so that is an additional 50 Million that can legally enter once the law is passed...........this is our future......IF my little calculations are in the ball park.......just cut it in half and still the Dems get about 35 Million voters over time.....last election tells us much about the probable party affiliation.

AND the 2000 mile border is still a sieve......the flow of new illegals (non family members)can be added to the 25-50 Million invited in.........craziness. The precise definition of a family member is another topic.....documents, dna, trust me,.........????

If it keeps a certain party in power forever, then the consequences are worth it to those who have purchased that power with taxpayer dollars.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Cool, a new spin on why the GOP is losing elections......boo hoo hoo, how can we win if the democrats insist on trying to help the hispanics and the blacks which are those very people who we dislike. We don't want to change, so the democrats are not playing fair. All very tragic.

Sure.....not everyone who appeals to Republicans is a millionaire or a billionaire......if you are a far right religious fanatic, chances are Republican's like you, if you believe everyone not like you is leaching off the system, you might be liked by a Republican, if you believe that healthcare is a privilege not a right, reserved for the select few.....you probably would appeal to Republicans, if you think that guaranteeing seniors medical care and a modest income is a waste of money, you are most definitely Republican material, if you think women should not make decisions about their own bodies, and the life of an unborn fetus trumps the life of a mother, you surely would be liked by Republicans.......I could go on but why bother.....you know who you like.

The part I think is very unfair, is why America is forced to take all these people who only share a land border with us. Why don't we instead increase the legal immigration numbers dramatically and bring in the best and the brightest from all over the world? They want to come here legally and are jumping through the proper hoops, but instead the ones who break the law are rewarded.

Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.

I do believe that we need to do more for these people who labor in the shadows. It isn't about who wins what election. It is about treating each other with humanity. Our immigration system is broken. We had the chance to change it under Ronald Reagan, but dropped the ball. We can fix it now, or continue to defer the hard choices. It is tragic that the current political model has become kicking the can down the road to let our kids and grandkids deal with the messes our generation and the one before has has created out of greed and short sightedness.

The root cause that underlies the issue is the ill informed Americans and our compassion for immigration......we can no longer tolerate unlawful influx and the entitlement state we have created....it is destroying the nation. We have the H1B program (and others) that permits 100000 skilled (engineers primarily) yearly to come here because we have a dysfunctional education system.....that already exists.

The Mexican issue is purely political.....the numbers under the Obama approach are unacceptable.....upwards of 100 Million here or are permitted to flow in ......permitted because we provide entitlements they will never have South , the border is essentially open and the elite in South America encourage the shipment North. Essentially South America is controlled by European pure bloods.....they do not intermarry with indian decendants and run the show.......part of the strategy is to ship their social problems NORTH.....it is working well. They think we are fools.....well, take a look.

I really wonder how many Americans know Mexico is essentially run by Spain....business and political operatives, Brazil is essentially a colony of Portugal.....still is and Spanish is not the language of Brazil.....Argentina has for decades been a colony of Germany.....nany Nazis feld to or went back to Argentina post WWII......and so it is.........Americans get their history off the walls of a TEXMEX restaurant.......The Europeans will never give up their power in South America.....as in NEVER.
BTW I travel to Spain often and discuss this issue with extended family......and I have a Spanish Grandson........we are fools and they play us well.
