White Privilege? - White Guilt?

Just thought this commercial/PSA would make for an interesting conversation. Ignore the title of the video and just speak you mind.

Nobody wants to give an opinion here? Well at least tell me if I should be feeling privileged, guilty, proud, ashamed, or whatever for being born with a lighter skin pigment. Oh, and I'm a man too so that's two big strikes against me that I'll somehow have to repent for over time.

JMO......UNLESS you (collectively) have participated in a discrimination experiment, I DON'T think you have any concept (as a "non-
colored" person) of just how INSIDIOUS the issue is. "Black like Me' was just such an experiment (written many years ago).......the issue is NOT just color, it is ALSO obese/unattractive vs. thin/attractive. The "fat suit" experiment is well documented and has been
the subject of MANY documentaries. It is the same with attractive/Unattractive "make-up" subjects.......We (collectively) are a VERY
judgmental, superficial society. And from my POV, it has become increasingly more so.......NO guilt, just an unawareness and THAT is
what the video is attempting to convey....JMO

So do you feel that I am privileged because I'm white, and if so, how do I change that fact and pass my 'privilege' on to someone who is darker and more deserving?

JMO......you (collectively) ARE privileged. Becoming AWARE is the first step......don't think it is an issue of MORE deserving, but rather,
an issue of equality.....and EQUALITY has always been a predominant issue.

Breakfast of Champions? Fleet of foot? You should keep one leg in a bucket of cement so you can sympathize with the lame.
Intelligent? Someone needs to walk behind you and bash you in the head every time you come up with a solution.

To me this is some blanket generalization BS which will only help to solidify racial division and do nothing to address the problem of racism. And for the record, I've lived a life that has been far from privileged... I worked in crappy jobs making a bit over min wage for a decade before I was able to save enough to start my first small business (without a loan). I'll bet you could find many millions of white people who've lived through generations of poverty and in no way feel privileged. These kind of stupid generalizations do nothing to make people "aware", we get plenty of that from networks like MSNBC.

"Collectively"? What a bunch of bull. Our restricted constitutional government allowed for a country based upon commerce. It was shockingly successful, far more so than any other country in the world. It was merely circumstance that our ancestors were northern Europeans. So now we must loathe ourselves if we are not cripple? dark skin pigmented? short? fat? bald? red headed? left handed? poor?

TO HELL WITH SELF-LOATHING!
