It's distugsting because it creates a self fulfilling prophecy.. What does it do to one's confidence and motivation to succeed, when one is constanntly being told they are a victim and the deck is stacked against them at every turn? I just don't understand how white guilt and self loathing creates more oppportunity and less racism for minorities.

Apparently you are NOT aware of the "calling out" of a hi-end store called Hermes. In 2005 there was an "incident" and Oprah was
discriminated against by the staff at Hermes......she made an "example" of the "less than cordial" treatment and the CEO was called
upon to rectify the situation (via a public apology).......AND most recently, Forest Whitaker was treated as a "suspicious person" and
was "patted down" (against the law, he elected NOT to press charges.) YOU REALLY DO NEED TO GET OUT MORE.......JMO.

Let me be VERY clear about this issue, no one is whining and wringing their hands. They are being PROACTIVE and demanding
RESPECT. It is unfortunate that you (collectively) do NOT recognize this........JMO

And I think you (collectively) should do MORE RESEARCH on the subject of "white Privilege".........an EXCELLENT place to start
would be a book called "The Freedom Writers Diary"......made into a movie with Hillary Swank portraying the REAL teacher who
went up against the educational system in Long Beach Calif. The 2007 movie illustrates the mindset of an educational system
mired in mediocrity and mindless management.....UNTIL she brought innovation and integrity to her classroom........the end result
was a curriculum that did and CONTINUES to produce H.S. graduates/college students who were,at one time,at risk and "unteachable" (according to the school board.).......the teacher's name is Erin Gruenwel..........and when you read her story you will
hopefully comprehend just how DIFFICULT it is to get a "good" educational foundation when you are living in the inner city and "white
privilege" is non-existent.

Like when Obama the Senator endorsed vouchers for the kids from bad neighborhoods and schools only to have the national teacher's union read him the riot act and Barack chose to be against vouchers, a helping hand to the urban youth?

Putting the needs of the teacher's union against the underpriveliged students.
(The NEA donates more to political campaigns than inner city youth.)
