Believing that she would receive anesthesia through an IV, Byer claims she was “pressured” to have an abortion immediately at the Centennial Boulevard location of Planned Parenthood, KRDO reported citing the court documents.
Byer says the medical personnel could not find a vein for the IV, and that the doctor proceeded with the abortion despite Byer’s request to stop the procedure.
Is there more info, I read an article where a woman went into a procedure without a clear understanding of what would happen or what they would do if certain things went down.
It is the responsibility of the patient to have a clear agreement or understanding before they allow such a proceedure to start on them. Plus once they allow the doctor to do the procedure, they have trusted the other person and need to face the consequences.
I see no issue here, things did not go as planed and everyone did what they though was right. People need to just accept the outcome, not sue a doctor so we all pay more next time.
Weren't folks concerned that the pill they gave the woman would make a monster baby and wanted to make sure that that baby, that she now likely damaged by taking the drug too late (her choice), was not going to suffer as a being maimed by it's mother.
Liability should fall to the person that made the choice to trust (the girl) not the person trusted unless a clear agreement was broken.
I say no story here and this one case is not a reflection on the nation as a whole, this is a reflection on one girl that is flopping like a fish, likely has little family support or even worse, there is such stigma to this situation, that she did not seek advice from loved ones or friends. This is not a societal issue, this is between her and the doctor, no one else needs to be sucked into this, not for a jury, not for increased future rates to cover the lawsuit.
