I don't think it is as dire as predicted just need to increase the number of minorities who vote for the GOP. The Republicans seem to be moving to the center and I think they will do great in 2014 mobilizing the pro-gun vote.

I think they should just sell it to Sheldon Adelson, or Jamie Dimon. They don't make lipstick in sufficient quantities for that same ol' pig they keep trying to sell. They're still trying to sell the same stale ideas, and changing the salesman from week to week to the "flavor-of-the-month", (Palin, Cain, Santorum, Perry, Romney, Ryan, Rubio) is not going to win the hearts & minds of all the demographics they screwed up with in 2012.

They keep mouthing the words about wanting to "stop being the Stupid Party", and then they pass more anti-women/anti-abortion laws; they have town-hall meetings with the White Aryan Nation, and KKK screaming about going after "illegal aliens" with guns; they tell the poor, disabled and elderly "Sorry, no health care for you" (because it gets in the way of our Randroid principles).

"The Republicans have a winning message for a nation that no longer exists." -- Michael Gerson

Why do think I keep saying, "PLEASE! Jus' keep doin' what yer doin'... No, really! I WANT the racist, xenophobic, Hispanic-haters to just keep it up..... It cost you 71% of the Hispanic voters last time... I think you should go for 80-90%...

And while we're at it, PLEASE keep passing anti-abortion bills; refusing to vote for the VAWA (Violence Against Women Act); Paycheck Fairness... That's worked SO WELL for you! It cost you 55% of the women's vote. I think you should go for a LEAST a 70% rejection-rate from women!!

And while we're at it, PLEASE keep spending millions of taxpayer dollars to fight DOMA, and Prop-8; Fighting to reverse DADT; and trying to fight marriage equality at every turn!... You're already at a 90% rejection-rate with the LGBT community!... I think you should go for AT LEAST 98-99%!

And while we're at it, PLEASE keep railing against affirmative action; screaming that every preference program to compensate for institutional racism is a vote-buying tactic; PLEASE keep working at your voter-suppression tactics, and admitting ON-CAMERA that your intent is to "suppress the minority vote." Please keep reminding EVERYONE that they are part of the "47%" and "takers"... You got a 95% rejection-rate from Blacks... I think you should go for 98-99%. Oh, GOD, I REALLY want you to keep doing that...

And in 2014, we will watch even more of the GOTP get thrown out; (Of course, the GOTP has only won ONE popular vote out of the last FIVE elections...) But I REALLY want to see them talk about how they have to "re-spin" their image....again....for the FOURTH time.... I REALLY want to hear them say they need to find "more votes" in the "minority communities". The "gun issue" is NOT going to save you. Only about 4-6% are dumb enough to think "Da Gubm'nt is coming to take their guns." And they have trouble dressing themselves in the mornings.

The Republican Party couldn't save itself with a Letter from God.

How soon they forget? How did the Dems do in 2010? According to Barack himself they took a shellacking.

Oh, I HOPE you keep repeating "2010", "2010" to yourself for the next two years... Just like you kept repeating "RMoney is going to win" in November, 2012....And lost the presidency, the Colorado State House, Speakership, Senate, and Colorado went for Obama...

Lost 17 teabaggers in the House; 3 in the Senate...

Yes, PLEASE!! :pop "How soon they forget."

That they did, after their wins in 2008.....in 2010 the Republicans thought they had a mandate to push their own agenda, and we see how well that turned out. The difference between the democrats and republicans? The democrats learned from their defeats, the republicans don't want to learn from theirs and that will not serve them well in the next election.

More overconfident? Maybe the Dems lost in 2010 because the Dems got overconfident after their big win in 2008?

Maybe they did......wouldn't you think the Republicans would take notice and not make the same mistake? But no....they fell blew it in 2012, and are doubling down on their efforts heading into 2014.

I don't think either side has learned diddly. They are blinded by their arrogance. The party that starts listening to the people instead of to the lobbyists is the one that will survive.

Well, that rules out the GOTP... They still think their "constituents" are the 8-10% of the extremist teabaggers, and the rest-of-the-nation be damned.
