Oh speaking of gun-nuts.... I HEAR that the guy, Sain, that threatened the State sponsor of the bills, is being formally charged, and if convicted will spend up to 6 years in prison for FELONY "attempt to influence a public official", and for a racial harassment charge.

Long may he rot.

Gee, and maybe some of them are between gigs hauling trash, and picking up cans on the side of the road.

Back in 1935 I'm sure a lot of people felt like gun registration was a good idea at the time... Fast forward a decade, that worked out well didn't it?

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Gee, Sparky...Busted again... But you keep trying... Sooner or later you'll find something FACTUAL instead of your FACT-FREE ECHO-CHAMBER bullsh*t....

The Myth Of Hitler’s Gun Ban

“This year will go down in history! For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration! Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!” –Adolf Hitler, 1935

Trouble is, Hitler never made such a speech in 1935. Nor is there any record that he ever spoke these particular words at all. This little “speech” was obviously written for him, many years after his death, by someone who wanted you to believe that gun registration is Hitler-evil.

What he did say, seven years later, was this: “The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to permit the conquered Eastern peoples to have arms. History teaches that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so.” So it’s fair to conclude that he believed “gun control” had its uses. But that’s quite a different thing from claiming that “gun control” was instrumental in the NAZI rise to power.

The Hitler gun control lie
Gun rights activists who cite the dictator as a reason against gun control have their history dangerously wrong

University of Chicago law professor Bernard Harcourt explored this myth in depth in a 2004 article published in the Fordham Law Review. As it turns out, the Weimar Republic, the German government that immediately preceded Hitler’s, actually had tougher gun laws than the Nazi regime. After its defeat in World War I, and agreeing to the harsh surrender terms laid out in the Treaty of Versailles, the German legislature in 1919 passed a law that effectively banned all private firearm possession, leading the government to confiscate guns already in circulation. In 1928, the Reichstag relaxed the regulation a bit, but put in place a strict registration regime that required citizens to acquire separate permits to own guns, sell them or carry them.

The 1938 law signed by Hitler that LaPierre mentions in his book basically does the opposite of what he says it did. “The 1938 revisions completely deregulated the acquisition and transfer of rifles and shotguns, as well as ammunition,” Harcourt wrote. Meanwhile, many more categories of people, including Nazi party members, were exempted from gun ownership regulations altogether, while the legal age of purchase was lowered from 20 to 18, and permit lengths were extended from one year to three years.

“This quotation, often seen without any date or citation at all, suffers from several credibility problems, the most significant of which is that the date often given [1935] has no correlation with any legislative effort by the Nazis for gun registration, nor would there have been any need for the Nazis to pass such a law, since gun registration laws passed by the Weimar government were already in effect,” researchers at the useful website GunCite note.

But you go ahead on... We'll wait for ya... :rofllol

And of course, the implication of this phony quotation is that the gun-wackos "need their guns to take on the 'tyranny of the U.S. Government'"... :rofllol

Yeah... Please... Like the looney-tunes in the townhall with State Senator Jeanne Nicholson the other day that are running their mouths about being the "armed militia"... You can't make this crap up... Like, the Government wouldn't send in a drone and drop a missile on the heads of the bozos running around in the forest playing soldier-for-a-day...

Shouldn't this be in the thread called "The Lies"? :rofllol

The Jews of Germany were disarmed. You think being heavily armed might have slowed or even discouraged the Holocaust? When they were able to smuggle weapons into the ghettos of Warsaw they did fight against armoredehicles and planes. History read up on it. A little less biased than HuffPo.
