New York National Rifle Association official barred from carrying a gun

A top National Rifle Association official in New York no longer has the right to bear arms. An order of protection stemming from a domestic disturbance at his Long Island home in 2010 prevents Richard D’Alauro, the NRA’s field representative for the city and its suburbs, from carrying the weapons. 'Years of domestic violence' make his former wife fear his ability to acquire guns again in the future.

Police confiscated 39 pistols, shotguns and rifles from Richard D’Alauro's East Northport, L.I., home in 2010, later returning to get guns and ammunition they missed the first time. His attorney said his temporary inability to carry guns is irrelevant, as the NRA does not require that its members own guns.

The NRA official pleaded guilty Oct. 3 to the harassment charge, admitting to Suffolk County Court Judge Toni Bean that he intended to “harass, annoy or alarm” his wife “by subjecting her to physical contact,” a transcript of the proceedings show.

What is this, like maybe "Dandy Richard’s Wife Beating Armory and Hair Products"?

Way to go, NRA. You sure know how to pick ‘em.

:rofllol  :VeryScared:

Oh, and insert standard irrelevant non-analogous "They did it too" here: _

Maybe Obama will sell the NRA guy a pardon.

And maybe the NRA knuckle-dragger--(Sorry...That's redundant)--will stop beating his wife.

They just passed the VAWA. It's not legal to beat your wife anymore.

It's not legal to commit murder either...But people do it.
It's not legal to speed in a vehicle...But people do it.
It's not legal to operate a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs...But people do it.

On the other hand:
You have to pass a proficiency test in order to get a license or you cannot operate a vehicle legally.
You have to pass a proficiency test and demonstrate your ability or you cannot get a pilot's license and fly an aircraft.

Hopefully, You will have to pass a background check, regardless of who or where you are purchasing a firearm from, (including stores, gun-shows, private sales, etc.), and if you are a convicted WIFE-BEATER, Felon, mentally-ill person, or outstanding criminal warrants, you will not only not be able to purchase that firearm, you may have the Police at your door confiscating pistols, shotguns, rifles, ammunition, and anything else that's prohibited by law.

Hopefully, if you pass all of those background checks, you will be prevented from purchasing magazines with capacities above the legal limit.

Hopefully, if you carry a weapon into an area where it is illegal to do so, and you are caught, you will be doing some SERIOUS time...

Hopefully, if you purchase weapons and sell them to a third-party who did not, and/or cannot pass those background checks, and they are traced back to you, you will be doing some SERIOUS TIME.

See, laws in come cases can PREVENT bad-actors from getting things they shouldn't get; and in some cases, while they may not prevent illegal behavior, they give law enforcement and the courts the power to punish, severely, the breaking of those laws....

But you knew that... Thus endeth the lesson....

Have a day...

Adultry is currently illegal in Colorado but they don't enforce it.

Guess just because they pass a law doesn't mean you will pay the penalty for it.

Laws against straw purchases? The Dems want to make sure that has a heavier penalty for that, up to 25 years per NPR tonight. Google Sarah Brady and straw purchase. Oops, guess you shouldn't buy a rifle for your adult son, especially if you don't know if it is illegal.

Police confiscated 39 pistols, shotguns and rifles from Richard D’Alauro's East Northport, L.I., home in 2010, later returning to get guns and ammunition they missed the first time. D'Alauro's statement to the police was that he had recently returned from a scuba trip to a lake located in central Colorado, where he claimed to have "discovered" the weapons.

And even if it's not legal to own an "assault weapon" people will do it... and use them in the wrong way. So... what's your point?

Speaking of New York....and guns....

A New York town that began assigning an armed police officer to guard a high school in the wake of the Connecticut massacre has suspended the program after an officer accidentally discharged his pistol in a hallway while classes were in session.

Lt. James Janso of the Lloyd police department tells media outlets Officer Sean McCutcheon will be suspended while an investigation continues.

Hey, at least he didn’t shoot the maintenance man. That’s the teachers’ job.

So, the way I figure it, we need an armed officer to protect us from the other armed officer. Oh hell, let’s have three at each school to make it interesting. What we need here is MORE GUNS!! Bwahahahaha  :jump:
