UC won't stop outdoor display of female genitalia photos

[youtube:1umultlk]
[/youtube:1umultlk]

From their Facebook....

“Our hope for this project is to combat social inequalities and abuses through the use of our vaginas as a form of collective resistance to oppression and to claim our positions as individuals with unique experiences, perceptions, and needs. This project is not meant to be a success story, but is a venue to further complicate ideas of agency and oppression, and to be a catalyst for critical conversation. The pose of the models is from an ironically medical perspective: one with legs fully spread, as if at the gynecologist, as the female body has been compartmentalized by legislative healthcare decisions. The 'billboards' speak ironically to both the sale and suppression of women's sexuality within our social system. The images mimic this same style of objectification -a selling and re-enforcing of patriarchy- that has shaped our visual culture both historically and contemporarily. However, the idea is to juxtapose these images with quotes and narratives from the models, disrupting the visual playing field and forcefully inserting our voice where it has always been absent.

In a system of unevenly allocated power over how we see ourselves and our bodies, where many women claim to not know the look of their own vagina or talk much about it, we hope this serves as an abrupt call to attention. Our effort is to criticize the socialized revulsion, embarrassment, and inattention to this body part, to visualize the female body as we neglect to see it, re-envisioning a greater potential for a future social and visual landscape.

*Not to conflate ‘woman’ and ‘female’, this is a trans-inclusive demonstration and we recognize that not everyone who has a vagina is female and not everyone who is female has a vagina. Collectively, however, we share this oppression over our genitalia.”

And my good friends, Chicks on the Right, summed it up so well...

OMG – this sounds like something Ashley Judd would write. And just in case one of the weirdos who’s responsible for this crackpot “art display” is reading this, I don’t mean that as a compliment. I swear, I don’t think I’ve ever read anything more vainglorious or pretentious in my entire life. “WE SHARE THIS OPPRESSION OVER OUR GENITALIA.” Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it positively HYSTERICAL that these chicks Actually Think that a bunch of vagina pictures are going to “combat social inequalities and abuses” or “re-envision a greater potential for a future social and visual landscape?” THEY ARE PHOTOS OF LADYPARTS, for crying out loud.

They go on to say...

But lest you think that this “art display” ONLY includes giant vagina pictures, rest assured that in addition those bigger-than-life photos, statements from the vagina models will be posted as well. The models are all “local adults dealing with their feelings regarding their sexuality.” And thankfully, the LGBTQ Alliance and UC Feminists are going to provide a “safe space” for people to “talk about their thoughts with trained volunteers.”

I’m sure I speak for all of us when I say, “THANK GOD FOR THOSE TRAINED VOLUNTEERS AND THAT SAFE SPACE.” Because how else could anyone ever manage to “deal with their feelings regarding their sexuality?” Without those volunteers and that safe space, there'd probably be people walking all over that campus, wrestling with their sexual anxiety and wondering how in the world they could cope with their swirling emotions after seeing gigantic vagina photos. So yes. Thank God for the volunteers and safe space. CRISIS AVERTED.

This is why we’re doomed, y’all. Because feminist chicks like these genuinely believe they are contributing something of value to society, when in fact all they’re doing is giving me more reasons to mock them.

Mock them indeed.

Vaginas And Penises And Feminist Hysteria

Apparently, some members of the Harvard crew team thought it’d be hilarious fun to build a gigantic, 9-foot penis out of snow. BEHOLD:

Women’s groups, naturally, went completely berserk. Amy Keel (a self-identified rape survivor pictured below) and her roommate took responsibility for destroying the snow penis just a few hours after it was (snicker) erected. Amy said, “It was offensive because it was pornographic. As a feminist, pornography is degrading to women and creates a violent atmosphere. Men think they have the right to force that on you. It’s a logical extension.”

The snow penis was pornographic, you guys. And it created a violent atmosphere. Don’t you see? That veiny snow penis was a THREAT TO WOMEN.

As Amy and her roommate feverishly worked to destroy the snow penis, she claimed that they were verbally and physically harassed by about 25 men. Amy said (emphasis mine), “A few people came out and crowded me with their bodies and one person shoved me away from the penis. It was gendered violence, because their comments were said in the context of our gender and accompanied by aggressive actions toward us.”

Mmmkay.

It got more ridiculous, because Women’s Studies lecturer Diane Rosenfeld weighed in and offered this gem: “The ice sculpture was erected in a public space, one that should be free from menacing reminders of women’s sexual vulnerability.” In the same email she claimed that the snow penis was simply one more addition to a long list of public phallic symbols, including – get this – the Washington Monument and MISSILES.

If you think about it, feminists like Amy Keel and Ashley Judd are really doing a huge disservice to women, because they’re demonstrating that women are so weak, so fragile, and so easily wounded that they become permanently emotionally scarred by something as harmless as a freaking snow penis. What kind of message does that send to young girls and women? Where’s your strength? Your resilience? Your power?

Ashley Judd accused Apple customers of ‘financing mass rape’

“Apple is known for the clean lines of their products, the alluring simplicity of their designs,” Judd wrote in the article. “Dare I….go so far….as to suggest…this signature cleanness is stained by the shit and urine of raped women’s leaking fistulas?”

“My electronics, received as gifts or purchased, profit armed militias and support slavery,” Judd wrote. “I am financing mass rape as I enjoy these ridiculously Global North ultra-efficiencies and conveniences, for large scale rape is the preferred predation mining interests use to humiliate and terrify local populations, in order to control resource areas.”

Ahhh, good old Cincinnati, always worried about naked pictures. That town is so uptight that they could perform self-colonscopies visually. lol

Do you any of you know about the Roger Maplethorpe controversy?
April 7th, 2010

Twenty years ago today one of the most significant moments in modern-day Cincinnati occurred: Police officers walked into the Contemporary Arts Center and presented CAC Director Dennis Barrie and board members with four indictments against Robert Mapplethorpe: The Perfect Moment, which had opened to the public that morning. Barrie (pictured) would later say the police "had symbolically walked into every arts institution in the country. When they demanded that we take the photos down they had found offensive, they were seeking the censorship of all art that was challenging, provocative or not politically correct."

So Im baaaack: this exhibit was started as a counter to an anti-abortion protest on campus that featured photos of aborted fetuses being displayed in public just like these are - I'm wondering if you are okay with that display, which is just as, if not more, graphic?

First of all, it seems to me that a poster of "one with legs fully spread, as if at the gynecologist, as the female body has been compartmentalized by legislative healthcare decisions" is a little different than the "naked pictures" you're referring to. But if liberal feminists want to call it that...help yourself. I guess it's in the eye of the beholder.

The point is not whether I'm ok with pictures of decapitated babies vs. up close and personal pictures of some confused chick who voluntarily allowed a 35mm to zoom in on her vagina and make posters of such...the point is just how ridiculous and absurd these chicks are in their futility to gain support from normal, healthy women (and men for that matter). They give us reason to laugh at them and mock them.

Now to your question...based on my previous posts here on 285B where I posted a picture of a decapitated baby and a snow penis, do you really have to ask? Your censorship here in this forum and the fact that you are the one who deleted both pictures begs me to ask you: Are you ok with vagina pictures but offended by pictures of the results of that really ugly thing liberal feminists call "choice"? My mama always used to say "actions speak louder than words".

*I have attached another picture that I'll describe this time so if you censor it and delete it like you did the last one your readers will know what the picture was all about...a tiny little arm that was ripped off of a living human being because his liberal feminist mother found him to be just a little too inconvenient and chose to put her sorry life ahead of her child's.

Oh and by the way SC...wrong terminology here...it's not anti-abortion...it's pro-life. And for liberal feminists...it's not pro-choice...it's anti-life. Destructive women have been twisting the words around long enough. The game is over.

Censorship, that's hilarious and you are full of shit. The images may have been deleted, because they were not appropriate content for a public website that younger viewers have access to, the links to the images that you have posted are still available and anyone can click through to see them if they wish. You have been asked to please place disclaimers on your posts with such content, but those posts were never deleted in their entirety -so please, explain to me how poor little ole you has been censored? I'd love to hear that one.

I've already explained my stance on abortion, but way to dodge my question to you. I've watched surgeries on humans, I've done surgeries on animals and handled every internal organ, I've dissected animals, so no your posts do not personally bother me in the slightest. But I'm not most people and this is a business website that serves the public and must be sensitive to what's generally acceptable content. We have an investment to protect, and you of all people should be able to understand that.
