I was first shocked to see a politician from conservative Colorado Springs come out so hard against guns, and attacking gun owners so I thought I would check if he ran in a "safe" district loaded with Dems. Based on the last election, it doesn't look that way. John barely won 13,866 votes to his Republican challenger, 13,526. A difference of only 340 votes. And to make it worse, the Libertarian candidate got 1320 votes.
Usually recalls don't work, but this man's attack on the 2nd might just rally Libertarians and Republicans to throw the guy out of office. (And maybe even a few Dems.)

Ooooo... "Gun-Grabber"...."Attacks on the Second..."
That would be upsetting...if anyone was actually trying to grab your guns or attack your right to own a gun... (Which NONE of the bills that are about to get signed into law would do...)
Oh, the outrage, the horror, the.... ZZZzzzzzzz....... :Snooze

An elected official who puts principle above reelection.
Actually he has made statements to the effect if he could ban them he would.
More politicians should be honest like that, like when Obama said civvies shouldn't not be allowed to own guns, but now says he supports the 2nd Amendment. A constitutional scholar who doesn't understand the document. No wonder he was only an assistant teacher.

"I don't know why any individual should have a right to have a revolver in his house," Nixon said in a taped conversation with aides. "The kids usually kill themselves with it and so forth." He asked why "can't we go after handguns, period?"
Nixon went on: "I know the rifle association will be against it, the gun makers will be against it." But "people should not have handguns." He laced his comments with obscenities, as was typical.
Dang...You just can't trust those slimy Republicans.... The next thing you know, they'll be trying to convince you they were FOR Civil Rights....
