Add in the one nighter in London and Joe spent almost 1 Million taxpayer dollars in 48 hours, at a time when we're cutting back on government spending.

It just shows how serious the Obama administration actually think sequester cuts are. Plus spending that amount of money in foreign capitals doesn't even help the US, it is actually an outflow of capital, like the 250 million we are giving Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.

The official added, "The contract costs cover the entire range of support, including accommodations for military, communications, secret service staff, and other support professionals. Security experts are also required to travel in advance of the president or vice president. Safety and security are not negotiable."

Unlike other government contracts, hotel stays for top U.S. government officials are not subject to a competitive bidding process. A justification obtained by The Weekly Standard also cites "security concerns" as the primary reason for this.

Hmmm... So, you think this policy was suddenly dreamed up by Obama? Which president was the king of the "no-bid contracts"?....Hmmmmmmmmm.....

What, exactly, is your beef with this? Her parents pay for the school trip.....the secret service gets paid whether they accompany her on a school trip, or just to school.....when did the right start complaining about what the president's kids do? answer.....when Obama took office.

The only issues is just the usual double standard of it, thats all. You apparently don't remember the media complaining about Bush's daughter's trip to Argentina because of safety issues. Mexico? Yeah, that's a safe place for kids.

:faint: So her trip is paid for, all the Secret Service, etc is paid for by taxpayers. So they could show a little compassion/sympathy to all the furloughed federal workers by staying home.

It is like eating bacon wrapped filet mignon in the company lunchroom while your coworkers are splitting a cup of ramen. Sure, you paid for that filet, but you don't need to rub their nose in it.

Her secret service is paid for when she is at home, and at school, and anyplace else she goes.... Y'all are so petty. And her trip was taken well before the federal furloughs..... But why let a good outrage go to waste because of some inconvenient facts.
