A program offering free shotguns for home defense in low income Tucson neighborhoods is getting more attention since Sarah Palin has started promoting it.
Think this is a good idea? Should poor people be helped out to defend themselves?

That is a good thing, since background checks are required, illegals won't legally be getting their hands on these. Unless of course they use their stolen identies.

Is this an lefty elitist attitude or what? Only the well off neighborhoods should be allowed to have firearms to protect themselves. What is it, are the poor to stupid or maybe to criminally inclined to possess firearms? Maybe they should just be satisfied with the protection society provides then in the way of the police.
Every citizen deserves to be able to protect themselves regardless of their status in society.

Especially since people in poor neighborhoods have a higher risk of crimes against them.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
