The more you read about the sentence of the Corrections Head/Pizza shooter getting out early due to a clerical error, the more suspicious this sounds. And then I read in the Denver Post letters section today that the shooter's dad was a good friend of Governor Hickenlooper. Did some favorable treatment occur here?
Ironic that former prisoner took out another friend of Hick, right?

With the amount of people in the doc system and the courts overall I can see how mistakes can be made. Time will tell if this is a case of weird coincidences or corruption. No need to jump to conclusions just yet.
Of course, there will be the temptation for the department to try to cover up any evidence that puts them in a bad light. (Or the Governor)
It does seem wrong that a man who couldn't be housed with the general population was permitted to enter Colorado's civvie population sooner than expected.

Really, you have to resort to lies and distortions to attack the Governor? If you actually bothered to learn the facts, you would find that the error occurred in 2008 when the district court judge erroneously misstated the sentence imposed on Ebel. The agreement in the case against Ebel was that he was to serve terms for the crimes consecutively, while the order sent to the DOC erroneously had the terms to be served concurrent. This occurred in 2008 well before the Governor took office.

Per 9 news yesterday, both widows received apologies from the correctional system (Fremont, I believe). The system accepted responsibility for the early release.
delta, you only see what you choose to fit your agenda. Fred was making claims through innuendo that the governor was responsible for the early release of Ebel, yet there was not a single fact that supported her claim. The facts showed that it was a clerical error that occurred in 2008 by the judge imposing the sentence that caused the early release. Yet since the facts do not support any outrage against the Governor, you and Fred choose to support lies and distortion to create such an outrage.

I didn't accuse the governor of anything. But if some underling wanted to make the Denver mayor/governor happy, he would let the guy go, especially when you can hide it as a clerical error. Remember about ridding me of this priest?
