N.C. House Speaker Kills Bill To Create State Religion

Oh, wait... This IS North Carolina... The Speaker may have decided that "The Party of Small Government" trying to impose a "State Religion" was a bit too far, but you can't leave those clowns unattended and without adult supervision for too long...

NOW the "Party of Small Government" (that wants to keep government out of your personal lives) has decided to interfere in your marriage decisions--IF YOU'RE ALREADY MARRIED:

North Carolina 'Healthy Marriage Act' Would Set Two-Year Waiting Period For Divorce, Require Counseling

Two North Carolina Republican lawmakers are hoping to make it more difficult for married couples in the state to get divorced.

State Sens. Austin Allran (R) and Sen. Warren Daniel (R) introduced the "Healthy Marriage Act" last week, a bill that would require couples seeking to end their marriages to first undergo a two-year waiting period -- during which the couple could live together. The current waiting period is one year, during which the couple must have "lived separate and apart."

I'm not making this up... The bat-sh*t-crazy TeaPublicans just have this obsession to deal with EVERYTHING EXCEPT JOBS, and intervene in private lives... It must be something in the water...

Nothing's been moved out of this thread gmule, but sometimes if someone else posts while you're typing the system will ask you if you want to review new posts first. If you don't hit Submit again after that message, what you typed isn't posted - could that be what happened?

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

That happens to me all the time, usually after I have spent a long time crafting a wordy post. I usually just say "Aw, forget it" and move on.
