President Obama in no way mean to "diminish" California Atty. Gen. Kamala Harris' credentials when he described her as "by far the best-looking attorney general in the country" during a talk, his spokesman said Friday.
The White House was responding to criticism over the remark, which some found to be sexist.
A guy can't even comment on a lady's looks anymore without some sort of backlash. I'm handing him this one, but it really isn't his fault. The media is a giant dog that foams at the mouth. Definitely a head shaker. At least Michelle isn't out on the tube lambasting her "ole man" for his comments, but I guess we'll wait and see.
The press can make negative, judgemental comments about people's weight, clothes, (case in point, Gov, Christie) whatever- but love to blow up a compliment into a media circus. I am just so terribly tired of the media in America today.
For once I agree with LJ. Obama himself has been described by his looks many times by people in the media. I see nothing wrong with what he said since it was a positive remark. It's not like the "lipstick on a pig" comment which was a poor choice of words at best.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
