Sen. Mitch McConnel Wiretapped By The Left

Wait a minute... This is the same GOTP that uses the word "Nixonian" in a sentence? (I guess the irony of bringing up the name "NIXON", i.e., WATERGATE was lost on somebody...)

How about the name James O'Keefe, and the bugging of Sen. Landrieu's office ?...Does that ring a bell?... And since it doesn't appear to be a planted "bug", one might presume that the recording was turned over to an outside source without having violated any applicable federal laws... But hey, getting to use the letters "F.B.I." in a sentence was supposed to throw off the bottom-feeders like FauxNews, DailyCaller, Drudge, and WorldNutDaily with an outrage-of-the-day without dealing with the content of what was being discussed?...

Well, take heart, "They Did It Too" fans.... As it turns out, it's a FEDERAL CRIME to use taxpayer-paid staff & employees to discuss and participate in "going after" political opponents on Government time... It may be a rather interesting dilemma to have called in the F.B.I., since what it appears they are discovering are McConnell violations of federal law:

Mitch McConnell Hit With Ethics Complaint Over Leaked Ashley Judd Tape

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has been hit with an ethics complaint after a leaked tape revealed he was discussing with aides how to take on potential opponent Ashley Judd.

The Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) has asked the Senate ethics committee and the FBI to investigate whether McConnell was having a discussion about potential Judd weaknesses -- including her mental health and religion -- on government time.

Using taxpayer-funded resources to pay staffers to dig up dirt on political opponents isn’t just an ethics violation, it’s a federal crime,” said CREW Executive Director Melanie Sloan. “As Sen. McConnell requested, the FBI is investigating the recording. A thorough and fair investigation necessitates the bureau also inquire into whether Sen. McConnell himself violated the law.”

Well, dang... He may well have been "hoisted on his own petard.".... And I'll be waiting for the FACTS about any proof that he was actually "WIRETAPPED"... I haven't seen that anywhere... Anybody got a link for that?

It is now being reported that the taping of the illegal meeting took place in the hallway outside where the illegal meeting was occurring. Which makes the recording of the illegal meeting to be legal.

According to a local Democratic party official, the group Progress Kentucky recorded the conversation. This is the same left wing group that made fun of McConnel's Chinese-American wife earlier in the year.

According to this guy, McConnel and his people were in a room with the door closed. The Progress Kentucky people recorded the conversation from the other side of the closed door. Based on this description, that sounds illegal to me, but it's one of those things that may never get settled. I'll let the legal system sort it out...

The creators of the recording could face criminal charges. Gene Policinski, senior vice president and executive director of the First Amendment Center, said it depends in part on whether there was a reasonable expectation of privacy during the taping and whether physical trespassing was involved.

So far as if the meeting itself was illegal or not, it just looks like an accusation at this point and I don't see enough info to determine anything one way or the other.

Conway's account is consistent with explanations that McConnell campaign manager Jesse Benton has offered since the release of the recording. Benton has said that the door to meeting room had a vent through which someone could've recorded the conversation taking place inside.

if the conversation was audible from outside the meeting room, it's possible that the recording may not technically be considered a felony under Kentucky's eavesdropping laws.

Gee, I guess if you want to hold an ILLEGAL meeting, you should find a door that doesn't have a vent in it.

I don't see that it's been established as an illegal meeting, other than an accusation. What evidence to you have? Links?

And if you find it OK to put a recoding device up against a door with a vent, is it also OK for a pervert to put a recording device (with video) up against a changing room door vent?

Again, I'll let the courts figure the rest out. Not that I expect much to happen.

I'm still waiting for a link to the proof that it was "Wiretapping"... Let me know when you find it.

And James O'Keefe, and the bugging of Sen. Landrieu's office ?...Does that ring a bell?... Is that okay with you?... Is breaking into an office to install a bug better for you than taping a clearly audible conversation in an open hallway outside a door?

Oh, that's right... If it's the Righties doing it, it's okay... I keep forgetting.

Tell you what... I'll trade you one surreptitiously recorded "Small Town Voters Cling to Guns & God” speech for one "There are 47 percent who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax." speech...

How's that?
