To anyone interested in our NEW (2008) barking dog law

while i am not always able to follow all of tilt's posts, i get the gist of most of them and they do have merit. nothing is done about barking dogs ever. you can call animal control all you want and get nada. once i called about a dog running and they said please catch it and hold it for them because they were having a meeting.

as for the roads, we don't call anymore. we are a tertiary road and if we see a grader once or twice a year we are lucky. but since the county won't put in culverts where they are needed they might as well not waste their time as the run off will ruin any work they do on the road. we are used to using our 4 wheel drive to get off the public tertiary road.

and i could go on about the commissioners lack of response, etc. moving out to park county is like moving to russia where laws are interpreted and enforced as those in power see fit. a most bizarre experience. but with new people in office maybe we will start looking a little more like part of the usa.

When all legal options ignored by those who we pay their salary.
May want to try this -it works. Tape the barking, and play it back to them. Worked twice for me-they were upset too, not fair.Boo hoo,ts.

Its one of the many laws the PCSO is NOT interested in. They prefer to decide on there own which laws they care to enforce and certainly do not want to impound their buddy's. This policy will change after the PCSO purchases a custom made animal control armored Humvee that the sheriff will put to personal use!

I am being sarcastic, of course. Or am I?

TILT has a point there...I resorted to this once when a neighbor's dog would bark, 10-30 minutes at a time, strictly out of boredom. Borrowed a friend's 2-track reel-to-reel recorder and used stereo microphones. Taped well down in the 'medium' VU range, and could then 'crank it up', on replay. Worked great! Neighbors + dog moved 2 mos. later, after more citations from PD/Animal Control. Poor dog.....

OK people, you are going to like this, I just got served, not legally, but conceptiomorally.

I do have a decent amount of land, neighbor's dogs could bark, no biggie, but one of them just something I find somewhat unique,

He put up a giant wooden cross....I came home and my wife is enraged. We pretty much look out at it and now will all the time.

I may ask him to take it down, but I know people can be pretty protective of their religion. I do not deny his right to have it up on their land.

We likely will just move and buy more land. Was thinking of putting up an even larger star of david or a huge crescent.

Any thoughts. It really now feels like I am driving up the hill from 470 on 285 at 9 pm....but whenever the sun is up.

???

how about live with it? neighbors get to do all kinds of things that may not be to your or my liking but if it isn't against the law it is their right. i can't legislate my neighbors ugly color of house, pile of cars that are working, (not nonworking), etc.

i can tell you what one neighbor did when he saw something he didn't like. he stacked, very neatly, a pile of chopped wood so that he didn't have to look at what offended him. i thought it was rather clever.

I have one who not only put up a wooden cross, but put lights on it as well. Now they can't sell their house. Hmmmm.
