Seems to be an appropriate place to do it. Any NASCAR fans out there? Do they check you for weapons before entering the race like the NFL does before going into stadiums?
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
Well then that explains it. The man must have been a gun control nut and couldn't handle being in the backseat of a great NRA event.
Fred, NFL doesn't allow vehicles and Rv's in the infield.
I think James Holmes should be put in solitary confinement and issued a gun to help him cope with his problems.
That what I was suspecting, the gun came in via vehicle.
Once again a question for NASCAR fans, did it seem that Fox went out of its way to not mention that this race was the NRA 500, or is that normal? I noticed in the Denver Post, the only mention of the NRA as the sponsor was in the official results, not in the actual stories from the race.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
I don't know about FOX going out of its way to not mention it, but the race sponsorships are set up so far in advance, and I'm pretty sure that the companies sponsoring aren't personally involved in planning and security details, so the fact that it happened to be sponsored by the NRA is happenstance and unrelated.
Fred, yes they do "pat" you down, but you are allowed to bring coolers into (some of) the races so it's not nearly as strict as the NFL or MLB. My parents retired a few years ago and going to races in their RV is what they do for fun (returning to their dating days).
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
