I am a little surprised by this. I didn't expect the Senate to pass a new AWB or magazine limits but I was pretty sure this bipartisan watered down UBC would pass.

Maybe the bombing has moved gun control to the back page?

Possibly... But what it HAS done is tell the 92% of the public that wanted to see UBC passed that the 60-Vote blockade on getting ANYTHING done is something they will remember in 2014 and 2016...

Actually it is quite relevant to getting legislation passed. The 4% will be out donated by the 8% who have drawn a line in the sand on new gun control and the NRA donated to many more campaigns than the Brady Campaign and Mayor Bloomberg.
