Using the usual twisted-logic that seems to be the norm around here, it was no doubt sent by a conservative in order to shed negative light on the Left...

Isn't that how it goes? That was the excuse when the swastikas were painted on the windows of the local Dem field office; or the shots fired into the Lakewood office....

Yep...It's never ending...

I wonder if other Senators have been sent such letters. If not, I would tend towards someone with a personal grudge.

Personal grudge? Anything is possible but that is not the first thing that comes to my mind when chemical warfare comes up.

Sen. Claire McCaskill told reporters after a briefing for lawmakers that a suspect has already been identified in the incident. Members will be warning their home-state offices to look out for similar letters, she said.

Authorities are believed to have identified a suspect who regularly sends letters to members of Congress.

In 2004, three Senate office buildings were closed after preliminary tests found ricin delivered through the mail system in the Senate majority leader’s office. At the time the AP wrote, “Twice as deadly as cobra venom, ricin, which is derived from the castor bean plant, is relatively easily made and can be inhaled, ingested or injected.” But investigators later said the test may have picked up non-toxic byproducts of the castor bean plant used in paper production.

Best I can tell, no particular party or individual has been named as the culprit. There is a suspect but I can't find any reason in any search for why the Senator would receive ricen laced mail..

You know, I would prefer to wait until a suspect is identified before making any judgements as to who it might be and why they did it - otherwise it's just speculation.

That this person has targeted other representatives indicates someone who is not mentally well, and has an ax to grind with government itself, not any particular political party affiliation.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

 Even if it IS a person who has an issue with the Republican party, that doesn't mean that person is acting on behalf of anyone but himself. Just like on this board... if some on the left or right is a hateful POS, that doesn't transfer to anyone else unless someone else backs the hater up.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
