I hope it wasn't. I wonder if they find a cigarette and find that it started a fire if they can get anything off it and track them down. Anyone who throws a cigarette out the window in Colorado should get a mandatory 30 days in jail at least!
on channel 4 noon news they said they were purposely letting it burn since no structures were affected.
better a controlled burn than uncontrolled.
it might not be beautiful to look at but it starts the cycle of growth over and provides new nutrients for the wildlife.

I like seeing the green regrowth after a fire. There was a fire on the hill across from our place and even a couple years later you can tell fire area by the green grass.
I don't want to jinx things but it looks like a pretty mild fire season so far...
