Gosnell abortion doctor "House of Horrors" trial updates

Doing the job the media won't...

Johnson worked as a janitor, maintenance man and plumber of sorts and he was the common-law husband of 51-year-old Elizabeth Hampton, who is herself Gosnell’s wife’s sister. He told jurors some of the morbid details that appear in the grand jury report — including how he threatened to quit working at the abortion clinic because he refused to pull any more flesh from aborted babies out of the plumbing. …

He told the jury toilets backed up one-two times a week and said he opened the outside clean out pipe and fetal parts such as babies’ arms came spilling out.

Johnson said he scooped up body parts with shovel and put them in a bag that was taken to rat infested basement. Johnson said a cat kept at the Gosnell clinic was there to deal with rat infestations that kept happening. He said the [cat] pooped in plants all over clinic.

The abortion could take as long as three days, one staffer admitted in it.

“If … a baby was about to come out, I would take the woman to the bathroom, they would sit on the toilet and basically the baby would fall out and it would be in the toilet,” testified Latosha Lewis, who worked for Gosnell for over eight years. “I would be rubbing her back and trying to calm her down for two, three, four hours until Dr. Gosnell comes. She would not move.”

As Huffington's Post journalist Marc Lamont Hill made clear...

“For what it’s worth, I do think that those of us on the left have made a decision not to cover this trial because we worry that it’ll compromise abortion rights. Whether you agree with abortion or not, I do think there’s a direct connection between the media’s failure to cover this and our own political commitments on the left. I think it’s a bad idea, I think it’s dangerous, but I think that’s the way it is.”

I read that today about disposing of baby parts by flushing them down the toilets. Barbaric. And MSNBC wants to cover this up? Refusing to report on these atrocities should be a criminal act.

BREAKING NEWS!!! ONE MONTH after the trial began, MSNBC finally has a story (one) about the trial!!!
http://tv.msnbc.com/?s=gosnell

Shamed into it no doubt.

The case has been under-covered by the mainstream media, because of its graphic, horrible content, Scarborough added.

Ya, that must be the reason. I wonder why they covered the Sandy Hook massacre so quickly? Not graphic enough I guess.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Will Gosnell take the crown for the most active serial killer?

This pretty much defines the current state of "journalism" in the U.S., and why you cannot trust the media.

Here is todays Gosnell update...

Lewis indicated that Gosnell’s equipment was outdated and never inspected, and that he often reused disposable curettes, which is the sharp-ended tube that enters the womb in abortion procedures and applies suction for the removal of the pre-born baby and other tissues and fluids.

Lewis testified that the curettes were washed, dried and placed in an antiseptic solution, then reused. The curettes are meant to be disposable and for single use only. She indicated that she noticed that women who had abortions using the reused curettes began returning to the clinic suffering from sexually transmitted diseases.

Earlier testimony indicated that plastic curettes are more porous than metal surgical instruments and simply cannot be adequately cleaned for reuse.

Sorta like a wardrobe malfunction... eh...

In general, ultrasound measurements showing the biparietal diameter, or BPD, which is the measurement across the baby’s head, varied from 53-75.8 mm. This measurement is used to determine fetal age. However, recorded in the charts almost uniformly was the fetal age of 24.5 weeks.

According to a chart found on the Internet, 53 mm BPD equates roughly to 22 weeks gestation. A 75.8 mm BPD would represent 29-30 weeks gestation both ends of the spectrum were noted as representing fetal ages of 24.5 weeks in the charts.

Lovely.

Do you think Obama will use this case to push for stricter inspections of abortion clinics? He doesn't let other tragedies go to waste.

President Obama spoke before Planned Parenthood this week and gave Dr. Kermit Gosnell their Lifetime Achievement Award to do his best to bring the standards of backalley abortions to the streets of Philadelphia. (Applause) (Not true.)

Day three of deliberations and no verdict yet. Any guesses?

Due to the length of deliberation, I'm guessing some lesser charge with just a few years of jail time.
