A senior Obama administration official said a series of briefings overnight have produced concern the Texas blast could have been at least criminal in nature. Authorities are trying to contain their speculation for fear of causing a panic, but the official told The Post the cause of the blast is "suspicious."
Authorities suspect the blast was set off by a truck or rail car holding a large quantity of ammonia that somehow caught fire or blew up. Ammonia, under certain conditions, can become combustible or explosive.
"It's 50-50," the source said. "Some sort of explosion caused the ammonia truck/rail car to create a shockwave up to a half-mile away, destroying that little town."
Not good man. Also from the same article though:
President Obama said in a statement today, "Today our prayers go out to the people of West, Texas in the aftermath of last night’s deadly explosion at a fertilizer plant. A tight-knit community has been shaken, and good, hard-working people have lost their lives. I want to thank the first responders who worked tirelessly through the night to contain the situation and treat the wounded.
Anyone else notice that Boston's tragedy has the White House's full attention but the recent West Texas tragedy has taken a back seat to what happened in Boston? Might just be me and the media outlets I frequent but it seems to me that the reporting on the situation in Texas is lacking. Is Barry planning a trip to the red state of red states or is he he gonna shun them because the population of Texas won't bow down to the Emperor and his cronies policies on gun control, healthcare, and other Socialist legislative attempts to convert our Republic into a Socialist union?
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

I think it's petty to be trying to rank disasters/attacks then beat up Obama over it. It's the next day after the Texas explosion for heavens sake......Obama went to Boston for the Memorial service....I seriously doubt they are having one for the Texas victims any day real soon. But I shouldn't be surprised that some would use a tragedy to bash Obama......it's what you do, day after day.
I remarked to a friend earlier today that the media was scrambling to cover both tragedies, but thought they were balancing their coverage as best they could......There is more "breaking" news events coming out of Boston, while in Texas, the fire is out, and the coverage there is concentrated on finding any remaining survivors.
But post what you want, most people here are concerned about those affected by both of these tragedies, and not yet trying to see if there is a way to politicize them.
I was pleased to hear the president, while responding to the capture of the bombing suspect, reference the fires in Texas and point out how the victims there and that horrific event had not been forgotten in all the attention being paid to Boston.....at least not by him.

Sadly there is a long tradition of the press ignoring flyover country especially the northeast has any news. Flood in the heartland? Little coverage.
Rain in New York, headlines.
