The Batman Theatre shooter has adopted Islamic ways praying five times a day a halal diet etc. Maybe to justify his horrible actions? The other prisoners of Muslim faith are not amused. They say their religion doesn't advocate killing innocents.

Maybe just because he's mentally ill?

Does adopting Islam make the consequences of his actions any different than if he'd adopted Christianity after what he did?

Islam believes that your deeds will be weighed ----

The Quran makes it clear - salvation is based on works.

There's no assurance of salvation - only the will (often arbitrary) of G-d (Allah).

By comparison - Christian theology only requires a profession of faith in Christ, and repentance.
(often criticized, in fact, for cheapening grace).
