Some States control all liquor sales through state owned stores. Aurora is looking at controlling recreational marijuana sales through city owned stores. Normally I wouldn't support this but after seeing dancing marijuana leaf's on Broadway for medical MJ I can just imagine some of the crazy things we will see.

Here's an idea... unionize city owned dispensaries and grow operations, then add the 15-30% tax. Due to the higher costs of operation, weed prices rise to the point where private unemployed growers are incentivized to bring a cheaper product to market. Then when the city owned operations begin to struggle due to cheaper competition, we give them tax payer subsidies to keep them afloat and avoid layoffs and pension reductions.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
