McCain's Ala Carte Cable Bill?

Would you like to see this pass? Currently cable bills are averaging over $100 a month, and include a bunch of expensive channels that not everyone uses, sports channels are some of the biggest offenders. ESPN costs a big percentage of that $100 cable bill.

Would you like to be able to order only the channels you wanted?
Or does your household need most of the channels?
I don't think it would save much in my household. We like the arts, news, and sports channels. And my wife claims to hate reality TV but she watches a lot of it.

I could see them offering ala carte purchases but they would make you pay big bucks for the equipment they now offer for free.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

I guess a bill for just MSNBC couldn't be very expensive at all.

Which only goes to show you that there is no free lunch; an important lesson to remember with ObamaCare looming on the horizon. Not only will you be paying more for your own care and coverage, you will be paying on top of that for all the "free" goodies offered up in the legislation.

You got that right brother. We're about to watch the birth of a new huge government nightmare... this is one instance when a late term abortion would put a big smile on my face.

A la carte is the way to go. We would stop being forced to subsidize all of the special interest channels which cannot make it on their own.
Bring it on!

Sounds good to me. I don't watch much and hate subsidizing all the sports channels for everyone else.

I am a little more hopeful than you are. Right now they offer a super basic cable package for parents who want to control what the kids see, they just don't advertize it. I would just like to see more options, like a sports free package, a slightly larger basic package, a PG version, etc.
