It's getting really hard for our current government to escape anything... every from the leftist press...

The White House claim of ‘doctored e-mails... to smear the president’

Indeed, Republicans would have been foolish to seriously doctor e-mails that the White House at any moment could have released (and eventually did). Clearly, of course, Republicans would put their own spin on what the e-mails meant, as they did in the House report. Given that the e-mails were almost certain to leak once they were sent to Capitol Hill, it’s a wonder the White House did not proactively release them earlier.

The burden of proof lies with the accuser. Despite Pfeiffer’s claim of political skullduggery, we see little evidence that much was at play here besides imprecise wordsmithing or editing errors by journalists.

Three Pinocchios

A bushel of Pinocchios for IRS’s Lois Lerner

In the days since the Internal Revenue Service first disclosed that it had targeted conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, new information has emerged from both the Treasury inspector general’s report and congressional testimony Friday that calls into question key statements made by Lois G. Lerner, the IRS’s director of the exempt organizations division.

In some ways, this is just scratching the surface of Lerner’s misstatements and weasely wording when the revelations about the IRS’s activities first came to light on May 10. But, taken together, it’s certainly enough to earn her four Pinocchios.

Holder’s incorrect claim on the ‘Fast and Furious’ criminal citation decision

The fierce exchanges between Rep. Darrell Issa and Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. on Wednesday garnered a lot of attention, but there was also an interesting substantive point that was discussed: Did Ronald C. Machen Jr., the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, make his own decision regarding whether to prosecute Holder for criminal contempt of Congress?

Holder said Machen “made the determination.” What does the evidence show?

Ultimately, Machen wrote to Congress that he concurred in the decision, but we have no idea, at this point, whether he felt any pressure to conform to the department’s policy. Holder certainly should not have left the obviously incorrect impression that he knew otherwise. But, by admitting error, he just skates by with Two Pinocchios.

I can assure you there will be more to come.

Good to know some of the press is still on the job investigating this current administration and other press outlets.

I think that by going after the Associated Press, the administration has energized the press in general. The police don't like going to domestic calls because the fighting family will rally around each other against the intruder.

I sincerely hope so, our mainstream media has become way too lax and lenient in their investigations.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

When and why did they start getting lax in your opinion?

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Today on his show Thom Hartmann agreed with Bret Hume that the administration is acting unconstitutionally in how they are investigating leaks.

That does not happen every day. I wonder if he will be intimidated into backing down or at least shutting up.

I want to salute and acknowledge him for his rise above partisan politics on behalf of the country. I hope he stands firm and others on the left stand with him.
