Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill., ripped his fellow Illinois colleague, Republican Sen. Mark Kirk, for proposing the mass arrest of 18,000 gang members in Chicago, telling the Chicago Sun-Times on Wednesday that Kirk's proposal was an "upper-middle-class, elitist white boy solution to a problem he knows nothing about."
Well isn't that special
At a press conference with Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., on Wednesday, Kirk said he will ask the Senate Appropriations Committee to disburse $30 million "to go after gangs...and pick the biggest and baddest for a federal effort." Kirk specifically mentioned the Gangster Disciples, a notorious gang in Chicago, saying, it's "completely within the capability of the United States government to crush a major urban gang."
Isn't this what the Obama administration does with AQ heads via drone attacks?
Why is going after these gangs and taking down the leaders somehow a racist thing? Has this guy not seen the stats on murders in Chicago by gangs?
Racist issues aside (because it's not racism when minorities do it), none of this can be true. Chicago has laws against hand guns and violence, it's a modern city and lawlessness is not tolerated. Chicago politics bear out the truth, just have a look at the Daley's track record... Then there's that kid Barry who became a community organizer - no scandals there.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
