Obama is going to sign the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty on Monday, May 03, 2013. It lays the groundwork for an international gun registry and permits for ammunition purchases which will be overseen by the bureaucrats at the UN.
If the Senate ratifies this treaty it will supersede the U.S. Constitution. This is based upon the history of judgements of the U.S. Supreme Court.
It's a good thing that regardless of what Obama adds his signature to is worthless without that ratification, which has no chance as long as there are more than 40 Republicans elected to serve in that legislative body.
Collectivists have been selling that demoncracy bridge to the Union piece by expensive piece over the course of the last century. Don't get what you want to begin with? Get a piece of it instead, and another piece a couple years later, and another piece a couple years after that. 10 years down the road, you have what you originally sought. Unless something is done very soon the bridge you've been erecting over the last hundred years to fundamentally transform the Union from the republic created by the founders to a centrally governed nation that is a republic in name only will be complete and I, for one, have no desire to see the progressive form of government we started with become the next Rome.
The right wing nuts are at it again, but hey it gives Printsmith yet another opportunity to use his tired pedantic phrases that have zero meaning. First, President Obama has not announced whether or not he will sign the treaty to stop irresponsible gun trading with countries that use such weapons for human rights violations. Second, this treaty does not require gun registration nor will it in the future. Third, the treaty can not supersede the Constitution as a matter of law. Fourth, even if the President does sign the treaty, it does not take effect unless the Senate passes it by 2/3rds majority which is impossible as they can not even decide whether to take a piss by such a majority.
But hey, the wing nuts have an opportunity to rant about meaningless crap yet again.
FYI, only three countries voted against this treaty. Iran, Syria and North Korea. Is that the company that the US should keep?

Watching the same clowns take the same bait over and over again has become a very entertaining spectator-sport, though, you have to admit...
There is a window between the time that Obama signs the treaty and the Senate votes to ratify or reject. This window will allow Obama to issue executive orders to establish gun registration and require permits for ammo purchase.

That "window" has existed for the last 5 1/2 years, yet the President has not done so, nor has he any intent to do so. You know, tin foil has many uses for recycling.
