Denver Post: Building Bans In the Mountains?

24 Jun 2013 08:33 #1 by FredHayek
A letter to the editor today advocates that people shouldn't be allowed to build in the mountains and the forests since it costs so much to protect the homes in the middle of forests.

He also thinks all this land should be public and the owners bought out and moved to the city.

I disagree. Our cabin was built in the 1880's and was never in a fire. And even living on the plains isn't safe, has the letter writer ever heard of a prairie grass fire?

Did he ever hear of the Black Forest Fire?

Or, perhaps, the Waldo Canyon fire?

Not to mention all the damage due to hail in the flats.

Another letter to the editor in the same vein concerns a son who wants to move to the Midwest to avoid these fires, but there you get tornados and prairie fires. There is no place safe, but I am going to stay in my mountains.

Must be an Agenda 21 advocate.

Yeah, most of those who believe in "Agenda 21" are whack-jobs...

Shows almost the same level of critical thought-process as someone who would suggest that if a governmental or state agency requires a form or a license, there should be no fees involved, since it is "required."
