Why this one case (among the 1000s of potentially race related cases or other cases that have a bearing on more people in more places)? This debate is even larger than the current abortion debates....why?
Is everyone else really wrapped up in personal race conflicts that a good national debate on this topic will resolve? Does any potential racism by this one dude have any bearing on the rest of us not living like rats in a heat infested apartment complex? I just don't see the action item on this issue for anyone except those involved possibly regretting decisions.
Why is this more important than so many other issues, like people not eating, people being locked up in droves and people not being able to make their own choices?
I feel for the family, but not to the tune of national attention....what gives? It is really as simple as the news stations tell you about it and it becomes more important than just about anything else going on? I am just not seeing why anyone is paying attention to this outside of the families and the community, especially at the cost of discussing things that will influence their lives.
Perhaps just a good distraction....
At this moment, based on the media driven reaction to this (meaning that the main purpose is still to sell commercials and ads), that we will see more race conflicts and violence in the next 12 months....not less.
Good point. Blacks are murdered by blacks 90% of the time and by Peruvian whites less than 1% of the time. Which gets more air time? Maybe a man bites dog story, since it is very rare?

It is receiving attention because the race baiter in the White House needs to deflect from the other, more important issues that plague his administration.
IMHO the Travyon/Zimmerman trail and ensuing circus is just another left handed appeal for gun control.
Based on the evidence cited above banning guns is clearly an effective way to stop violence of all kinds.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

I don't think Obama orchestrated this diversion from the real issues but you know he's dancing a little jig in delight. I'm sure the lefty media was also getting sick of looking for ANYTHING to report on that didn't make this administration look bad... now they got it along with the new abortion debate.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Have a look at the site in my previous post, at least one paper is covering black on black (or thug on thug because not every thug is black or a minority).
While that is the case the MSM couches their stories in terms of under privileged people how were forced into violence as a means of survival. When violence occurs in poor neighborhoods it's just the way things are and the public is not expected to really have much of a reaction. White shoots black guy during home invasion in Highlands Ranch - front page news, fire up the TV crawlers, something really important just happened! Two rival gangs involved in shootout, resulting in multiple casualties in Five Points - see page 38 in the local crime section of the Denver Post.
What's worse is when you read "White shoots black guy during home invasion in Highlands Ranch" what assumptions do you make?
1) House had to belong to the white guy?
2) White people don't break in to other peoples homes?
3) There aren't any black people living in Highlands Ranch?
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
