The problem I have with many liberals is this 'unreasonable goal ideolog' (my made up term). It bugs the hell out of me when goals are set too high (with no real intermediate goals) and end up failing because of improper research, vetting, and economic viability. The green movement is a prime example of forcing a technology that hasn't been perfected and isn't a viable replacement for fossil fuels... yet the government bets on it anyway at taxpayer expense. The half billion to Solyndra would have been better spent on research than on a company that everyone should have known could not compete. Which brings me to Obamacre... I believe this is being pushed on us the same way.
The unreasonable goal in Obamacare is that we can somehow make health care more "affordable" without first lowering the actual costs of health care first... before we add 30 million more to an already overpriced system. This is just a giant "cash for clunkers" on a massive scale... it's a great thought, but it wasn't properly thought out. This should have been studied by the best minds and simplified instead of rammed through and read later. And just look at all the problems already... and it hasn't even kicked in yet!
I really hope I'm wrong, but I'll bet over the years we see fewer and fewer doctors and new ones entering the field. This on top of the fact that there will be more unjustified appointments that will make the doctor shortage even worse. (my opinion alert). AND, Doctors are dropping Medicare like crazy... why?

And the big problem will be selling young healthy people on the exchanges instead of just paying a much cheaper fine. Without enough participation in the exchanges, this baby starts to crumble , or the fine/tax/penalty has to go way up. And we can see how well these people can do math by looking at the original cost of implementing the ACA vs the actual cost which is at least double. This new law messes with 1/6 of the economy and it was put together in about a year.
Yet, Obama has spent how many years researching and debating the Keystone Pipeline? Which issue needed the most careful consideration?

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
Interesting Rick, because that whole lofty goal vs realistic steps is what I have argued with conservatives about......many times I have been challenged here by conservatives saying that the ACA is not a perfect bill, it doesn't solve all the problems, and falls short of even liberal's goals....and they are absolutely right. But...it is a step in the right direction, and I truly believe that if you don't make any steps to improve our totally out of control health care system in the US then nothing will get done....ever.
There is too much effort in Washington on finding the "perfect" bill, be it immigration, healthcare, tax reform, jobs and too little effort into taking incremental steps in the right direction on these issues. I know, many conservatives do not think that the ACA is heading in the right direction....but the Republicans have come up with NO direction....it's always in committee....or ideas laid out in blogs and talk shows....the Democrats went ahead and did something.....and that is what we need to do on all these big issues.....get something done and refine it as we go along. If any major corporation ran their business like the Republicans run the house they would be bankrupt in a year......you have to move forward, take some risks, get things done. This country has never been known for being timid and sitting still.....till now.
So the answer is to let Obamacare happen and deal with it as it's implemented? NO! Pass a law that requires Congress to fully review and comprehend every proposed legislation and THEN vote on it instead.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
