Our country is increasingly being turned into a plaything for the ultra-rich.

The statistics about wealth inequality in this country are both astonishing and alarming. But statistics can’t tell the entire story if they’re presented in isolation. Our country is increasingly being turned into a plaything for the ultra-rich.
Here are seven signs that the ultra-wealthy Americans have way too much money.
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
Rich monetarily doesn't necessarily make you rich in character and everything else it takes to be a great person. -Jekyll
I would really like a bunch of money, but I'm afraid I would spiral, as do most people and everyone I've ever met that were rich monetarily. That's my own personal results, but it also doesn't mean I hate them for it either.
Very true Jekyll. I'm not monetarily rich, but am abundantly rich in friends and loved ones!

When you have too much fuel and not enough air then you're too rich... But seriously.
Earning a living is part of living life but if I didn't have friends and family a huge part of my personal wealth would be missing. Learning something new everyday and using my knowledge and experience to help others is another portion of my personal bank account. Doing what is right, not what is easy or popular, sometimes that means telling someone they are wrong or being lazy, other times it means helping someone who truly has done all they can but still need help. Recognizing when you are wrong and making things right again, being humble when corrections are due. All these things increase my personal wealth and I'd be a lot wealthier if I didn't stray every so often.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford
Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

I'm having cocktails with a new millionaire tonight back here in Rhinelander, WI (the powerball winner from MN is a life long friend). I spoke with him a few times since he came forward last Thursday. More $$$ than he would ever know what to do with, but I am hoping it doesn't change him that much. Loads of character already and a great person, hopefully he holds on to his humility.
