Cleveland Kidnapper Ariel Castro Found Hanging in Prison Cell

ORIENT, Ohio - Ohio Rehabilitation and Correction officials said convicted kidnapper Ariel Castro was found hanging in his prison cell at the Correctional Reception Center in Orient.

Officials said he was found hanging in his cell around 9:20 p.m.

Prison medical staff began performing lifesaving measures. Castro was transported to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 10:52 p.m.

Castro was sentenced to life in prison for holding three women captive in Cleveland for more than a decade and raping them repeatedly.

Coward's way out. It wouldn't be legal under our current laws but a literal eye for an eye ruling seems more appropriate to me. Should have locked this guy up and treated him the same way he treated his victims and over the same timeline - then let him pick being hung by the neck until dead or being hung by the neck until dead.

That was the choice he took, alright.

For once Ariel made the right choice. And Ohio taxpayers can stop paying to feed and house a swine. Apologies to four legged swine everywhere.

Which would bring his jailers down to his level. Do we want to encourage that?

I'm glad he took the coward's way out. Hopefully his victims are breathing easier today.

Disagree about the jailers. Castro picked on innocents. If the jailers permitted this to happen, they just let an evil guy meet his fate a little sooner.
