You deflected first by bringing background checks into an aca cost debate. Just sayin.archer wrote:

Nice deflection though, very clever.

Whether the majority favor infringing on inalienable rights doesn't matter. If the Senate wishes to add or strip language from a spending bill which originates in the House is up to them. Whether they hold up the CR because of the (un)Affordable Care Act or some silly bit of legislation which will make people feel better is irrelevant to our discussion here. The Democrats could pass any of the plethora of bills sent to them by the House, the President could sign it, and the government would be funded by a CR while the battle, which the people have asked be fought in the legislature, over the (un)Affordable Care Act wages on.archer wrote: Tell me PS, since the majority of the American people favor increased background checks for gun ownership would you be OK with the Democrats in the Senate refusing to bring up a bill to fund the government till increased background checks are attached to it?

Imagine how much auto insurance would cost if it covered pre-existing conditions. Am I wrong to assume it would skyrocket? In that case, it wouldn't be necessary to drive carefully or to even lock your doors.Big Dougy wrote:

Sorry, no more freeloading. I'm sick of paying for you and you're white trash families healthcare. Imagine how much auto insurance would cost if we didn't require everyone on the road to have it?

With the subsidies, which the average family will qualify for, do you actually KNOW that they wont save 2500/year?Rick wrote:
So when Obama said the ACA would save the average family $2500 a year, was that a lie or was he clueless? I only see two options here for his AFFORDABLE care act.archer wrote: Where was that outrage when insurance companies were raising premiums 40%/year .....I don't remember any Republicans complaining about what those hikes were doing to women, and the self employed, or the middle-class. But now that you can hang it on the Democrats you suddenly are concerned? BS. Like ever damn year for decades health insurance costs are going up.....what has changed is lower income people CAN get health insurance with financial help, and no one can be turned down, or cancelled for health reasons.
.....that 40% number is an average taken from my health insuramce premiums from the early 2000s....anecdotal, yes, just like yours.
