The bomb is ticking... tick toc, tic tock...

"Every plan is going to cost more than what I pay now. And what I pay now is ridiculous," said Ross, 47, who owns a cat-sitting business called Tales of the Kitty and pays more than $400 a month for her insurance. "It's a great thing for some people, but it's certainly not helping me."

Ross is among the millions of Americans who buy coverage on their own, but must find new coverage because the health law has rendered their current policies outdated. But Ross, like many others, is not finding the plans sold through the Affordable Care Act to be particularly affordable.

And there's this...

Aside from a prohibition on denying coverage to people with pre-existing medical conditions beginning Jan. 1, the health law also requires policies sold next year to cover a minimum number of benefits. And that can add to the cost of premiums.

These include such mandated benefits as maternity and newborn care, substance abuse treatment, and dental and vision coverage for children.

So if your're an angry old white woman, you're likely to get even more angry when you get to pay a higher premium due to maternity coverage you will never need. :woo hoo:

Tick Toc, tic tock...

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Where was that outrage when insurance companies were raising premiums 40%/year .....I don't remember any Republicans complaining about what those hikes were doing to women, and the self employed, or the middle-class. But now that you can hang it on the Democrats you suddenly are concerned? BS. Like ever damn year for decades health insurance costs are going up.....what has changed is lower income people CAN get health insurance with financial help, and no one can be turned down, or cancelled for health reasons.

.....that 40% number is an average taken from my health insuramce premiums from the early 2000s....anecdotal, yes, just like yours.

Anyone watch 60 minutes last night about the rampant disability and SS fraud. Will we now expect ACA fraud so people can get the Feds(ie taxpayers) to cover their health insurance? 25% fraud?

So when Obama said the ACA would save the average family $2500 a year, was that a lie or was he clueless? I only see two options here for his AFFORDABLE care act.

If the goverment is adding to your insurance premiums, that is OK. If the insurance companies do it, it is evil. Now I understand. So now after years of 40% premium hikes, Archer is fine with it going up even more.

With the subsidies, which the average family will qualify for, do you actually KNOW that they wont save 2500/year?

Fred....where did i say that? Another lie from fred, no surprise there. I have said from DAY 1,that the ACA is not what I wanted, but I will support it because we finally have something that is a step in the right direction. If the Repub;icans would put as much work into improving it and generating some positive changes as they have into stomping their feet and yelling NO, then we might actually have a better plan.

Archer..They trust the insurance companies to dole out their healthcare lol

Either that or they like freeloading at the emergency room...What would be another reason to support the sytem we currently have? Its only the worst one in the world, and don't forget America- This is not what the Democrats wanted, we had to give a giant gift to insurance companies in order for republicans to pass it...Its their baby and lets all hope it fails so we can go right to Medicare for all

Republicans didn't pass ACA. It was a partisan vote. VL, your own party gave you this creaky hybrid, the worst of both worlds.
