Interesting article. And while it may be true that many American's don't have a clue, especially those who only listen/read liberal media there are some who do. And 'electing people whom they trust to steer the ship' has made for the predicament we are in now.
It is time for Americans to have contact with their representative and for there to be an exchange of information so that the rep may represent their constituency effectively.
Let it get uncomfortable for Americans and maybe they will be willing to take a more active role in the future.

This is why we have a republic, not a democracy. The whole point of the American system is that most Americans don't have to know this stuff, and instead elect people whom they trust to steer the ship.
