Shutdown Strategies?

So since the press says the GOP is already hated and won't win another election and Obama and Reid both say they will not negotiate until the government is turned back on why should the Republicans settle? Might as well hold to your principles and take Barack and Harry down with you.

I don't deliberately wish any harm on my fellow Americans but there comes a time when Conservatives have to stand their ground. Liberals are just as much to blame for this mess and if it cost's little Johny a couple of welfare provided meals he and his parents should blame the Gubment as a whole, not just those who are attempting to stave off even more wasteful spending on programs that don't help those who need help the most.

It's time to point out to every citizen that there is no such thing as a free lunch, the entitlement culture needs to do the math and help get the economy back on track. Or don't, they'll inherit debt unknown to previous generations of Americans and likely witness the collapse of the United States of America as we know it today.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

I see no issues with doing nothing. Seems the sun is still coming up despite the Huffpost's and CNN's efforts.

Eventually the Furloughs will become layoffs and we will re-prioritize the money we can get our hands on.

Procrastination may save the day here.

EXCEPT you are OMITTING one factor in the equation.....GLOBAL economy..."scorch the earth
and poison the wells" mindset is a great move IF your nation/country/economy is the SOLE
FACTOR......unfortunately, it NOT.....therein lies the problem.....

Currently we spend nine dollars for every six we take in. Threatening to scorch the earth might be the only negotiating point the Republicans have. If we cut back to only spending $8 for every six we take in will it have been worth it? Or will it even matter?

We could, of course, bring in more money, cut more money, and balance our budget. Which is what reasonable people would propose....but the Tea party extremists are far from reasonable.

Tea party people are the only sane people in the country. We raised the debt ceiling. Think we will spend less? Hold your breath for that.
