Lautenberg's (D NJ) widow gets a death benefit (added to the bill "reconciliation" today) .......BUT the Radicals deny military heroes' spouses their benefits.......since Slick Willy sold plots in Arlington we have not seen such a slimy gutter move by the radicals.

Ask Bennett and Udall if they agree with this.....the voters will I assure all ??

White House to restore military death benefits denied in wake of shutdown
Solution expected following mounting outrage over denial of benefits to families of service members killed in action

Following growing outrage over the denial of death benefits to families of service members killed in action – including the families of five who died in Afghanistan over the weekend – the White House said on Wednesday it expected the problem to be fixed "today".

A payment of $100,000 is usually posted to grieving families within days to bring immediate aid to those struggling with urgent funeral, travel and other expenses before other federal benefits are forthcoming. The death benefits also cover travel expenses for the bereaved who wished to attend their loved one's reception at Dover, where the bodies of those killed in action are received in flag-covered caskets.

But the Pentagon said it cannot grant these families a "death gratuity" to cover the burial and other expenses as long as the budget impasse continues.

Dang... That "socialist" just made sure they get their payments...Nice of him to do it since A) We KNOW who caused the shutdown, and we KNOW that the TeaHadists knew IN ADVANCE that their shutdown would cause those payments to be stopped until the shutdown ends...(Oh, and that was a WEEK AGO Wednesday, 10/9...) Please try to keep up.

Get used to living in the Collective, us peasants will get our "equal share of the wealth" while the Dictator and his Proletariat will enjoy the finest of everything and want for nothing. Professional soldiers who volunteered to defend their country will be replaced with conscripts and every citizen of our glorious Motherland will serve whenever and wherever they are directed to by the glorious Leader. The glory of serving the Motherland is more than enough ceremony to honor the peasants who die to maintain the Motherland and her glorious Leader.

Besides, think of all the money the Motherland will save if conscripts are buried in mass graves in the same places that they died, or better still, why bother with burying them at all? Death benefits? Are you trying to infer that the Motherland doesn't already provide for every citizen's needs? You're not going to know that anything happened to your comrade until the letters stop coming or one of his or her fellow comrades returns alive and shares the news with you. Your only reaction will be gratitude for the Motherland preserving your existence.
