..."What is that formidable opponent saying in “victory” today? The shutdown crisis decisively ended because we were about to hit the debt ceiling. The President assured us that if we don’t borrow more money, we won’t be able to pay our existing bills – it’s one of his most frequently repeated arguments. If the federal government doesn’t borrow $3 billion or more a day, forever, the markets will panic and the economy will collapse. Our whole system is now based on rolling up gigantic amounts of debt at low, low interest rates, and we cannot consider any course of action that would jeopardize those cheap loans, or we’ll end up paying what President Obama referred to as the “Republican default tax” earlier this week.
What sane person celebrates such conditions? Why should any American taxpayer applaud the “triumph” of that philosophy? Who thinks it’s a good idea to restrict our options as a nation because we can’t afford to do anything that would make the people holding our debt leash nervous?
Throughout the shutdown, we watched the government go to war against disobedient Americans, inflicting needless inconvenience and loss of revenue through Obama’s Shutdown Theater antics. An army of federal employees appeared out of nowhere to erect barricades. Elderly war veterans were abused for having the temerity to visit an open-air memorial constructed in their honor. Some of the activities canceled during the shutdown – from air shows to popular inns and restaurants – were revenue generators, unnecessarily costing private sector owners and employees millions of dollars.
But all we heard about when the government re-opened were whoops of joy about non-essential federal employees returning to work and collecting back pay. Five years of Obama have beaten the private-sector workforce down to 1960s levels, with full-time jobs melting into a part-time slurry, but nobody in the government cares about that. They won’t be getting reinstated with back pay, unless you count unemployment benefits and food stamps."...
Anyone who want more stuff now at the expense of others in the future is celebrating, deep down, that is most people. Most people want more for less. This is not complicated.
It's kind of like identity theft, but the thief does not hide, they go haha and and make the theft not only legal, but required.
The deal is you get stuff and someone else pays, who cares how, right? This is kind of how we get even at our parents for all the shit they wanted but decided to have us pay for, we are going to punish the thing they love and they like 10 fold........their grandchildren. Haha mom and dad, you get to watch my little Aiden or Jakob suffer, even worse than I am suffering right now, I win!!!!!
Who on this board believes that high school kids are being taught about the debt that's building right now... the debt THEY will be paying for the rest of their and their children's lives? Do they really know what it means? Who here thinks these kids don't need the bad news yet? After all, they're going to be facing a very tough job market whether they go to college or not... why kill more of their hope, right?
If they really knew how much debt they will be carrying, do you think that might change how they vote when they hit that magic number of 18? I do. Makes sense why they are kept in the dark.
And if you know what "Common Core" is, is this issue part of that? I doubt it.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
Those who celebrate are those who know nothing about commerce or money. They know nothing of the workings of the Federal Reserve, banking, or Wall Street.
Sanity? There isn't anything sane about our current situation and there hasn't been for the last five years. The collective "we" apparently feel that they are entitled to everything they want in the here and now regardless of what it takes to get it, with the exception of having to pay for it or earn it for themselves. Having no consideration for current and future generations, even their own children, these are the people that find joy and celebrate the mess that is our current Government.
But why cast shadows and dampen the mood while the celebrations are in full swing? All that bad stuff is simply a bunch of predictions made by naysayers and besides it's all supposed to happen later, enjoy the bread and circuses now. Fire up the printing presses and make some more money, we can spend and spend and spend some more!
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus
I do, you Linktard....If it costs 24 billion to get rid of republicans, i'm all for it... You coxsuckers have shifted enough of our wealth from the middle class to the ultra rich
