Getting Rid of Dead Batteries

Back in the day it was simple and even entertaining...

I can hear the screams from the Peoples Republic of Boulder as I hit the submit button...

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

I can remember burning batteries in the burn barrel. Don't tell!

That and using used motor oil as a defoliant... Times change and what wasn't a big deal way back when are big deals now; I have to wonder what the reality is. What is worse, burning batteries or chucking them back in the landfill?

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Burning them is only one step worse than the ultimate nono with batteries.

Demanding them in the first place.

I bet lots of folks in Boulder do that.

Isn't that how you are supposed to get rid of them? For decades that is how they were disposed of. And I suspect today that the majority still end up in landfills even though they are not supposed to.

Curious who actually turns theirs in at the electronics disposal that is held every so often in Evergreen and maybe sometimes Conifer? Not sure about Conifer. I have seen it frequently in Evergreen.

Business battery recycling. It used to be they would take them for free. Now they charge.
