The Washington Reds?

:fwave: Should owner Daniel Snyder change the team name to the Washington Reds? Better represents socialist DC. And the logo can change from the Indian chief to the Obama logo. Or a hammer and sickle?

I'd like to call them the Washington Bought and Paid For's.

That's too long, though.

How about the Washington Bribes? :fwave:

I posted this in a different thread but my point is the same:

The team originated as the Boston Braves, based in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1932. At the time the team played in Braves Field, home of the Boston Braves baseball team. The following year the club moved to Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, whereupon owners changed the team's name to the Boston Redskins. The Redskins relocated to Washington, D.C. in 1937.

So 81 years later the special interest groups and minorities are outraged? Seems to me like those who are objecting are a little late to the party...

If the team name has to change then I would want the new name to reflect the actions of our current administration. The Washington Communists.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

They could name the team after our fearless leader and call themselves the Washington Thinskins.

It was always the women, and above all the young ones, who were the most bigoted adherents of the Party, the swallowers of slogans, the amateur spies and nosers−out of unorthodoxy

Don't know if that's original, but it's funny and true!

It could apply to any party in power, so it seems a good name to me.

Then again, I suppose some may find even that name somehow racist.

Plus, the name will work in the "Hail to the Red(Thick)skins" song...

Good one! But what happens when the Washington Communists become a target, every team wanting to trounce them, not because they are team worth beating but because of their name.

To represent the Democrat leadership in Washington, I formally submit the NFL to rename the Washington Redskins to the Washington Foreskins.
